Amazon and Print on Demand
Hi,
I read that you need to have a GTIN exemption to integrate Amazon with a print on demand site such as printful to sell t-shirts. When I go to begin this process I am informed by Amazon on setup...
"UPC Exemption Approved
You have been granted an exemption to list without a product ID. This takes up to one hour to take effect. If you are unable to submit this right away, please save this listing as draft and retry after some time."
Am I correct in saying that this is the same thing as a GTIN exemption as I am taken to the detail page to fill out the title and size of my t-shirt etc, do you reckon I have been given a quick approval for GTIN exemption based on the fact that I have had a professional Amazon Seller account since 2016 as I sell through FBA for toys and books etc and my performance has been good?
Thanks in advance

I’m not sure but UPC and GTIN essentially mean the same thing.

Hello @Seller_lrroO8yP0YOVU,
Here Simon from Amazon, happy to help.
As it is stated in the title of List products that do not have a Global Trade Item Number, UPC, EAN, JAN and ISBN are all Global Trade Item Numbers.
So having a UPC exemption should be the equivalent of a GTIN exemption.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Simon
