New 2024 FBA inbound placement service fee is ridiculous

Has anyone seen the new FBA inbound placement service fee that is basically going to be mandatory starting march 1st. Just ridiculous and going to eat into profits. If you are sending in 100 units you can expect to pay around $30+ on those just in placement fees. That is going to add up so quick.

This has been around awhile but it was a little more back-end. My only questions is if they are going to require you to break up boxes to send to different locations or if they will accept the way it is boxed without adding that fee.

I don't see how a lot of us will continue to do FBA by the end of this year. WIth this inbound placement service fee and the low inventory fee this is probably the slow end of people using FBA.

Sending in 300 units and paying $100 and trying to keep a certain amount of inventory at the same time not to try to incur another fee? lol. They are trying to impose a fee for everything...even if it doesn't make sense. If a person sends in 1000 units and they pay $400 for that..it will be ridicuolous. Sending the inventory to different locations and being charged additional shipping fees for sending it there will also increase the price per unit. FBA largely operates on thin margins for sellers..I just don't see how or why most sellers would continue to stay here.

I wasn't aware of this. We always have paid for the privilege of sending to only one FC. The problem is that this year there were huge delays waiting for items to be transferred to other FCs, and sometimes the merchandise just disappears for many weeks.

I wasn't aware of a low inventory fee. What new corporate scam is that?

What I can't understand is how some sellers (usually new sellers or FBM sellers) come to listings with extremely low prices, sometimes even below the price that many of us pay when we buy the product to send it to Amazon! If we don't respect each other, I don't know what we can expect from Amazon!!!

A decent chunk of the inbound placement fee is offset by the referral fee price drops coming though. So adjust for that and you will probably cut this new inbound placement fee in half or more. And that's assuming you aren't willing to just accept the splits and send to a lot of places. If you are, you should end up ahead.

This is Amazon which found out sellers want to send to closest best location for their business and they found a way to tack of fees. What next an Unboxing Fee per unit and disposal fee for cardboard?
