Buyers don't respond to messages unless they've messaged me first
Whenever I message a buyer to confirm order details, I almost never get a response. It's as if they aren't even receiving my messages. If they message me first, there's no issue. But if I'm the one who initiates contact, I get nothing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums and thank you to members of the community for their guidance.
If the buyer you are trying to contact has opted out of receiving messages, you can contact them based on the qualifications for sending a critical message. If this is the case, you can use capital or lowercase letters, but the word important must be surrounded by brackets to be effective. For example, the subject line "Need additional information" should instead be "[Important] Need additional information" or "Need additional information [Important].

In the normal course of events you should never need to contact a buyer before shipping. Why are you needing frequent contact?
Many Amazon buyers will not respond. If you ever must contact regarding a problem, then word your message so that the buyer knows what action you will take if you do not receive a reply by (day) -- (ship as is or cancel)
i.e. "If we do not hear back from you by Wednesday we will cancel this order."

Yes, that's the case. 80% of the buyers opted out from receiving messages from sellers.
Be VERY careful and contact them really only if it's necessary. Amazon doesn't want sellers to contact the buyers and can suspend the account for doing so. In this specific case, just fulfill the orders, no need to contact them.

You don't run a business here. You are an inventory shelf. Don't try and help customers like you do elsewhere. Respond to everything like an AI bot, don't initiate contact.
You'll need to lose money for buyer error. We get these often online and have helped 100s of people cancel orders. Not here on amazon. We don't even try. You'll lose $10,000s here that could have been prevented on top of the scammer haven it has become.
