Small and Light prep and packaging guide

Packaging checklist

  • All ASINs meet program eligibility requirements and have been successfully added (See FBA Small & Light Inventory report).
  • Each individual unit must have a single, scannable barcode that uniquely identifies the product, such as an EAN, UPC, ISBN, GCID, JAN or an Amazon barcode (such as an FNSKU). The barcode must be placed on the outside of the unit in a flat, easily accessible and scannable location. For example, it must not be placed on a corner, curve or seam of the package.
  • Same-ASIN units are bundled together in clear plastic bags, manufacturer, or seller case packs.
  • Each bag, outer case, or shrink-wrapped bundle has a label with the total quantity of sellable units.
  • Glass and sharp objects are safely packaged to prevent breakage or injury. For more information, see Packaging glass ceramic breakable and fragile units and Packaging sharp units.
  • Small and Light only uses poly bags and Jiffy bags. Crushable items such as potato chips and glass should be properly prepped and packaged so they do not crush or break when shipped. Broken or crushed items will not be received at the fulfillment center. They will be removed or disposed of at your expense.

Shipment checklist

  • A minimum of 24 units per SKU must be sent in each shipment.
  • Shipment contents match the shipping plan.
  • Shipment does not contain dangerous goods (hazmat) or items that are temperature-sensitive, meltable, or crushable.
  • The shipping box does not exceed 33.5 x 23 x 4.6 cm on any side, and does not weigh more than 225 g.

Tips for success

  • Do not send shipments with excess inventory. For more information, see Manage Excess Inventory.
  • Only send shipments to the fulfillment center specified on the shipping label.

Unique program requirements

  • Each unit weighs less than or equal to 225g, and has dimensions less than or equal to 33.5 x 23 x 4.6 cm.
  • A minimum of 24 units per ASIN must be sent in each shipment.
  • Each individual unit must have a single, scannable barcode that uniquely identifies the product, such as an EAN, UPC, ISBN, GCID, JAN or an Amazon barcode (such as an FNSKU).
  • All same-ASIN units within a shipping box must be bundled together using a clear plastic bag, a manufacturer or seller case pack (i.e., boxed or shrink-wrapped), or other means of grouping your same-ASIN units together.
  • On the outside of each same-ASIN bag or pack, the total quantity of sellable units must be clearly labeled.
  • On the outside of each bag/pack, a unique, scannable FBA Label which contains the FNSKU must be applied. More information available at Shipment label requirements and How to Print Item Labels from the Manage Inventory Page.
  • Items not properly prepped will need to be removed or disposed of at your expense. For more information, see Remove inventory (overview).
  • FBA Small and Light cannot accept dangerous goods (hazmat), crushable or temperature sensitive items.
Note: Through the FBA Label Service, we'll apply an Amazon barcode to your Small and Light products for free. Additionally, you can use the FBA Prep Service to have us package and prep your Small and Light products for fulfillment for a per unit fee.

General FBA Requirements
