Use "Buy shipping" with DHL Paket

With the Buy Shipping feature, you can buy labels, ship and confirm your orders, and track your shipments.

Use "Buy shipping" with DHL Paket

To use DHL Paket in “Buy Shipping” you must accept the DHL Paket Terms and Conditions.

In order to use "Buy shipping" with DHL Paket, you need a DHL account. To get a DHL account, you must have a DHL business customer contract and corresponding access to the Post & DHL business customer portal. Follow the instructions below to unlock the feature with DHL Paket. If you do not yet have a DHL account, refer to FAQ “I don't have a DHL business customer contract yet and still want to access DHL shipping methods in "Buy shipping"?” below or visit our Help page Create a new DHL account.

I already have a DHL account. How do I link it to "Buy shipping"?

If you already have a DHL account, go to Seller Central to enter your DHL account details and link your contract.

What data do I need to link the DHL account?

• Post & DHL business customer portal system users
• Post & DHL business customer portal system user password
• DHL parcel account number
• DHL Paket International account number
• Warenpost account number
• DHL Return Receiver ID – Germany
• DHL Return Receiver ID – Austria

Post & DHL business customer portal System user: The user type "System user" is used to use the connection. The system user name defines the system user in your Post & DHL business customer portal. System users can be created and edited by a customer administrator in the "Manage users" function in the Post & DHL business customer portal. Don't use your business customer portal user to link your account with "Buy shipping ".

Post & DHL business customer portal System user password: Enter your DHL password here. Caution - a password validity of 365 days is defined for the system user. Optionally, an email notification about the remaining validity of the password can be set for the system user in the Post & DHL business customer portal.

DHL Paket and Warenpost account numbers: Enter your account numbers according to the example below. You can find your billing numbers in the Post & DHL business customer portal under "Contract data" or in your DHL contract documents.

Example: DHL Paket = 10-digit DHL customer number (EKP) & product code & participation

DHL Paket = 1234567890 01 01

Paket International: 1234567890 53 01

Warenpost: 1234567890 62 01

DHL Retoure Receiver ID: You can find your DHL Retoure Receiver ID here in your Post & DHL business customer portal > Parcel & Goods (Retoure - Settings) > Sender country Germany/Austria > Receiver ID.

I don't have a DHL business customer contract yet. How can I access DHL shipping methods in "Buy shipping"?

Go to DHL and apply for a DHL business customer contract. After you have received a DHL business customer contract, go to Seller Central to enter your DHL account details and link your contract.

Yes, you can also use DHL Paket for Seller Fulfilled Prime shipments. For more information, go to Seller Fulfilled Prime with DHL - Structural Conditions.

2. Can I use DHL Paket for Prepaid returns for seller-fulfilled orders?

Yes, you can.

3. Do I need a separate DHL business customer contract?

No, if you are already a DHL business customer you do not need a separate contract.

4. Can I use buy shipping with DHL Paket without signing a DHL business customer contract?

No, if you do not yet have a DHL business customer contract and want to use "Buy shipping” with DHL Paket, go to Become a DHL business customer and you will receive your individual DHL offer to conclude a DHL business customer contract. You can also use “Buy shipping” for Seller Fulfilled Prime with DPD or Hermes instead.

5. Can I also use my user name to link my accounts instead of the system user name?

No, only the system user can be used to link your accounts.

7. When does my system user password expire and how can I renew it?

You can find your DHL billing numbers in the DHL business customer portal under "Contract data" or in your DHL contract documents.

9. Can I also use Warenpost with DHL via "Buy shipping"?

Yes, you can also use Warenpost with DHL. However, ensure that the packages for sellers using Prime do not exceed 3 cm in height. For all other shipments, a maximum of 5 cm applies.

10. Do I have to change something on my Amazon API?

No, all you have to do is link your DHL account to Seller Central. If you are already using Buy Shipping, an update will be made available to you. If you are not yet using an existing interface, discuss this with your respective integrator.

11. Can I specify DHL Paket as my preferred shipping service provider in "Buy shipping"?

Yes, you can specify DHL Paket or any other shipping service provider in Buy Shipping as your preferred shipping service provider. You can set this under Buy Shipping Preferences.

12. How can I create a new DHL system user in the DHL Business Customer Portal?

System users can be created and edited by a customer administrator in the "Manage users" function. Follow the next steps to do so:

1. You can create a new user with the Manage users function. Click Create new user to start.
2. In the first step, Personal data, select the user type System user in the User type selection field.
3. To use the Send function, activate the Send ability for the new system user in the Permissions area.
4. The notification options are displayed in the lower Communication settings area. Decide here how often you want a reminder about the remaining validity of your password and to which email addresses a copy should be sent.
5. In the last step, you can complete the creation of the new system user. Clicking Save sends the email to activate the new system user to the email address entered under Personal data. To activate the new system user, follow the instructions in the email.

After successful activation, the system user can be used to link your account.
