If you inform customers about a manufacturer warranty on a product detail page, you help
making the purchase of the product more attractive to them. The Selling Guidelines assist you
in providing accurate and complete information about manufacturer warranties. A manufacturer
warranty is provided if the manufacturer grants customers other rights, such as a right to
repair or re-supply, regardless of the statutory warranty rights.
The following requirements for referencing manufacturer warranties apply to all product
categories.
-
Once you refer to a manufacturer warranty, you must provide the following
information:
-
Information about the content and conditions (such as necessary registration) of the
manufacturer warranty, as well as any essential information necessary to enforce the
manufacturer warranty.
-
Information regarding the duration of the manufacturer warranty and the territorial
coverage of the warranty.
-
Information about the name and address of the warranty provider (usually the
manufacturer).
-
Note regarding the existence of legal warranty rights in addition to the
manufacturer warranty and that the warranty rights are not restricted by the
manufacturer warranty.
-
If you are unable to provide the aforementioned information, you may not mention
or advertise the warranty.
-
A reference to a manufacturer warranty does not belong in the product or ASIN
title.
-
Only provide information about warranties given, for example, by the manufacturer
regardless of distribution channels or other criteria. The product detail page and all
information on it will be used by all sellers. Notes regarding warranties that are
brokered or granted only by certain sellers ("Seller Warranties") are misleading and
therefore prohibited as offer-specific information on www.amazon.de. Seller warranties or
retail-specific warranties are offer-specific information that may not be used on the
product detail page. Please assure that the manufacturer warranty is provided by any other
seller and can in principle be used by any customer.
Note: This page serves a non-binding informational purpose about your informational obligations
regarding warranties and does not constitute legal advice. Therefore, all information are
without any guarantee of accuracy and completeness. If you have any questions, we advise you
to seek appropriate legal advice.
