Selling Software

Only full retail versions of software may be sold through Amazon.de. Selling software that has been copied or duplicated in any format is prohibited. Additionally, academic, OEM, back-up, fulfillment, promotional, beta (prerelease), unauthorised freeware/shareware, and "softlifted" software versions are prohibited. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with this list of prohibited items:

1. Duplicated or copied software: Software that has been copied onto CD-R, CD-W, floppy disk, or any blank media by anyone other than the original software manufacturer.
2. Academic software: This is software sold to students, faculty, and educational institutions expressly for use by those individuals and institutions. Since Amazon has no way of verifying that a seller or buyer has an academic connection, we prohibit the sale of academic software on Amazon.
3. OEM software: The listing notes must indicate very clearly if an item is an OEM version (OEM = Original equipment manufacturer) The OEM version must have the exact same attributes as the ASIN of the product detail page you list an item on. All offers must be identical to the item described on the product detail page.
4. Promotional software versions: Software distributed freely by manufacturers to promote their products.
5. Beta (prerelease) versions: Software distributed for the purpose of troubleshooting, testing, and evaluation.
6. Freeware/Shareware: Software distributed free of charge by the copyright owner.

Open Box Software: Many software products require first-time buyers to register their product with the manufacturer using an activation code, license key, or password. If the original owner decides to sell the software, they must prepare the software in the following way:

• Transfer the original disc.
• Ensure that there are unregistered or transferable license keys for the buyer. - List the product in the proper condition.
• Add information about the software's license keys in the listing comments.
• It might be required for the seller to contact the manufacturer to get the registration code transferred to the buyer, if this is needed to ensure the buyer is eligible for technical support or upgrades.
• Some products require installation of an access code. This access code lives on the manufacturers server and might make it impossible to transfer the license.

The following products cannot be offered in condition "New" on the same product detail page as the original version, but must be listed on a separate product detail page:

• Replikas
• Products without the original package (e.g. accessory removed from a bundle)
• OEM-products (e.g. with their own EAN/UPC)
• Single items from multi-pack products (e.g. taken from a package containing multiple items, re-packed and sold as single items)
• Cross-border media and imports (e.g. items sent from UK, items from other EU countries that have German language but no German packaging)
• Products with PEGI-restriction on USK-products

Before offering one of the items listed above, please verify if there is an ASIN available with the exact same attributes. If not, please create a separate ASIN.
