Dangerous goods (also called hazardous materials or hazmat) are substances or materials that may pose a risk to health, safety, property, or the environment while storing, handling or transporting because they contain flammable, pressurized, corrosive, or otherwise harmful substances. Read below for detailed information on Amazon’s policy regarding dangerous goods and your responsibilities as a seller.
While the term “dangerous good” is often thought of as highly corrosive or toxic products, it actually also refers to consumer products used on a daily basis by millions of people (such as laptops, phones, household cleaners, or even cosmetics). It is extremely important for Amazon to gather information about products regulated as dangerous goods or that contain possibly harmful chemicals to prevent any safety incidents that could occur while handling, storing, or transporting these items.
See also Examples of products that might be regulated as dangerous goods for a non-exhaustive list of common dangerous goods per product category.

Use the Look up an ASIN tool to check the classification status of your FBA ASIN.
Dangerous goods are regulated in Europe by the following:
All dangerous goods sent to Amazon must comply with all applicable regulations mentioned above to ensure that they are transported, stored, handled, and labeled safely and correctly. Failure to comply exposes employees, carriers, and customers to potential health and safety risks.
In order to sell dangerous goods through Fulfillment by Amazon, you must:
Dangerous goods are divided into nine classes (with several subdivisions) on the basis of the specific characteristics producing the risk. Please note that some of the classes or divisions listed below cannot be sold through FBA.

Amazon also offers a program, the FBA Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) Program, through which participating sellers can sell additional types of dangerous goods. To enroll in the program, use the Look up an ASIN tool displayed at the top of this page and select Dangerous Goods FAQ.
After you have been approved by Amazon to participate in the FBA Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) Program, you may send additional dangerous goods in compliance with the program’s terms and conditions. Eligible products may be sent to Amazon fulfillment centers as long as they are:

For shipments of limited quantities of dangerous goods to Amazon fulfillment centers, the only accepted transport label is:
Any warning labels or warning phrases on a product package indicates that it might be regulated as a dangerous good. Some products that are regulated as dangerous goods do not require warning labels or phrases (cosmetics and speakers containing magnetized material, for example). The absence of any labels or warnings does not mean they are not dangerous goods.
If you think your product might be regulated as a dangerous good, contact the manufacturer or supplier, and ask if your product is regulated. The manufacturer is required to provide you with a complete Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for all regulated products and you must, in turn, provide it to Amazon via the Upload dangerous goods documents tool.
Once your document is uploaded, Amazon will review it and classify your product accordingly, as long as the information is complete and accurate. To learn more about the review process, please read FBA dangerous goods review process.
To learn more about the dangerous goods documentation you must provide for your products, please read Required dangerous goods information and documentation.
